We sat down and shook paws with loveable little pug Suki, of Suki in the city, to chew over doggy dreams, cat-naps and why it’s so important to have an outfit ready for the perfect start.
so we’ve noticed you’re on the petite side. Any trouble getting up on to the bed?
I’m still quite young – in human years at least – so I’ve still got a spring in my step!
and when it comes to your spot on the bed, are you a pillow end kind of pooch or a bottom of the bed hog?
I’m definitely more the bottom of the bed. There’s plenty more room down there and I can make a little den for myself. But when everyone’s up getting showers, I’ll plank across both pillows.
do you like to snuggle up or spread out?
I can’t resist attention, so I definitely like to snuggle up. But when the lights go off it’s time to stretch out and enjoy the cloud… aka the eve mattress.
okay, so we’ve all seen doggies dream (which looks adorable by the way) but what is it you’re actually dreaming about?
As you’ll have noticed I’m not your typical dog. Instead of chasing dogs in the park, I dream about chasing bargains on the high street!
do you like to take a cat nap during the middle of the day? (sorry, poor choice of words.)
It’s okay… I’ll let you off this once! I mean who can’t resist a mid-morning nap? Early afternoon and then just after dinner? Especially when you’ve got the eve mattress to put your head down on!
what’s your pre-bedtime prep?
I always have one of my special camomile bedtime biscuits… it’s pretty much doggy Horlicks. And I’m not one to turn down a massage to get the stress of the day out before heading off to the land of sleep.
any tips for a great night’s sleep?
I always make sure I’m ready for the next day, so I have an outfit prepped and ready to go. And to get the best nights sleep… don’t set an alarm! You can’t beat a lay in – especially on a Sunday.
and finally, we all know it’s a dog’s life but what is your perfect start to the day?
There is only one answer to this… breakfast in bed!
National Dog Day is celebrated in the US on 26 August each year. To share the love, we’re celebrating it in the UK too, by ensuring the four-legged members of your family are getting the perfect start to each day – with the right balance of sleep and exercise.
